Palkhi Group Highlights

Aum Sai Pratishtan, Ranjangaon  was started on 19th March 2010 vide Registration Number MAH/774/2011 ANR. Shri.Balasaheb Somabapu Sonawane, Shri.Santosh Raghunath Jawak, Shri.Suresh Nanabhau Garkar, Shri.Panjabrao Ramras Shinde, Shri.Dilip Yashwant Shinde, Shri.Subhash Maurti Bankar and Dr.Balasaheb Mahandale are the main founders of the Palkhi Group.  

The Palkhi Group has been started with an intention to serve Sai Baba and to assit people who are undertaking Shirdi Yatra.

Founders of Palkhi Group, their friends as well as villagers used to visit Shirdi for service and darshan of Sai Baba even before 2010-2011. But, the Palkhi Yatra to Shirdi was officially started on 19th March 2010.

Every Year during Shri Ramanavami Festival, Sai Palkhi is taken from Ranjangaon village along with the Idol of Shri Sai Baba. On the way, Bhajans, Sai Naam Jap Chanting is done by the Palkhi Yatris. Sai Baba songs are played on the speaker. Simple food consisting of Rice, Dal, Vegetables are served to Padayatris. Natural Clean Drinking Water is also provided to the Padayatris. Tents are not used since concerned villagers where the Palkhi stops, will usually provide accommodation for Padaytris.

Usually 300 to 400 devotees and sometimes upto 550 Sai devotees participate in the Palkhi Yatra.

The Palkhi Yatra from Ranjangaon to Shirdi take a total of 9 days. The daily routine for 9 days Padayatra is as follows: Every day morning 7 AM Sai Aarti will be performed. From 7:15 AM the Yatris start walking. Breakfast is served at 9:00 AM. At 12:00 Noon Aarti is held followed by Lunch at 12:30 PM. From 1:30 to 2:30 PM Sai Bhajans will be performed. From 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM the Palkhi Yatris take rest. From 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM the Palkhi Yatri's continue walking. At 7:30 PM Sai Aarti will be held. 8:30 PM - Dinner is served to Padayatris. 9:15 PM to 11:15 PM - Sai Bhajans will be performed.

Usually Fifty to Seventy new members voluntarily take part in the Palkhi Yatra. But, sometimes, due to various reasons, this number is little less with anywhere between 10 to 20 new members participate in the Palkhi Yatra.
ID cards will be issued to All the Palkhi Yatra Members by the organizers of Palkhi Yatra.
The Palkhi Yatra is managed very efficiently by the group members. As such no incident that called for emegency situation has been witnessed till date by the grace of Sai Baba. However, On call Ambulance is made available and if any untoward incident happens, Safety First rule is strictly followed by the organizers and all the Palkhi Yatris. The Palkhi organizers make sure that they are in touch with all the hosptials and police outposts from Ranjangaon to Shirdi in case of any emergency situation.
Personal Contribution from the Members of Aum Sai Pratishtan is the main source for conducting the Palkhi Yatra. However, the Palkhi Group accepts donations from philanthropic donors and the accounts of the same are maintained by depositing the money in the Bank.
Palkhi Group Members encourage people in Ranjangaon and neighbouring villages to plant trees and maintain clean environment. The Palkhi group also regularly organize Blood Donation Camps. The main focus of Palkhi Group are: Healthcare, Unity and Integrity, Universal brotherhood.
The Palkhi Group organizes Bhandara immediately after returning from Shirdi Palkhi Yatra. Bhajans and Parayans are also held. Sometimes, Pilgrimage to Ashtavinayak is arranged. Grama Swachatha (cleaning of village) is undertaken by the Palkhi Group Members. The Trust is also providing scholarship to School Students who stood first in their class. The Trust Members are also involved in maintaining cleanliness in the local Sai Baba Mandir premises.
The Palkhi Group organizers state that Aum Sai Pratishtan and Sai Mandir Ranjangaon are by themselves unique identity. The Group Members are called by the name "Sai Sevaks". All the group members work in total co-ordination with each other.
The Organizers state that with the grace and blessings of Sai Baba, each and every Palkhi Yatra Members are very happy in undertaking Palkhi Yatra to Shirdi. They are experiencing overall peace and happiness.
